EU enters into historic free trade agreement with the Mercosur countries
14.01.26
The EU has reached an agreement on a free trade agreement with four South American countries within the Mercosur framework. The agreement opens up a new market of approximately 300 million consumers and creates significant opportunities for Danish businesses.
After more than 25 years of negotiations, the EU has reached an agreement on a free trade agreement with the Mercosur countries Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. The agreement removes or reduces tariffs and trade barriers and is expected to significantly strengthen trade between the EU and South America.
For Danish companies, the agreement provides access to a new and growing market of approximately 300 million consumers, including within areas such as food, industry, green technology and services. At the same time, the agreement creates better conditions for South American companies wishing to establish or expand their activities in Denmark and the rest of the EU.
